Cultural Embrace by API (CE by API) is working together with Colombian government-sponsored and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide conversational English training in job training centers and teacher training programs. Student ages range from sixteen to fifty years old, with varied language skills. English training is an important step to help locals do better in school, find better jobs, and improve communication in the global market.

Teach in Colombia Requirements:
-Teach 20-25 classroom hours + ~15-20 hours of office hours, classroom prep, staff meetings per week.
-Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Classroom experience or education degree preferred, but not required.
-Good lesson planning & organizational skills
-Fluent English speaker and good command of English grammar and conversational skills
-Enjoys leading groups and teaching young adults and/or professionals.
Program Inclusions & Highlights:
*Guaranteed & pre-arranged teach positions in Bogota, Medellin, Baranquilla, Colombia
*Monthly stipend: For 10-11 months earn US$400/month + US$200 bonus at the end of the program. For 5-6 months earn US$350/month.
*Private room in a carefully selected and screened host family, or a shared apartment/home.
*On-line TEFL certification included for 10-11 months. If you have 6+ months classroom/teaching experience, and/or hold an education degree, you may opt out of this on-line course and receive a US$250 credit towards your program fee. 5-6 months participants that do not have 6+ months teaching or classroom experience are required to pay US$295 and enroll in this course prior to departure.
*Orientation/Training: One-week, all-inclusive orientation in Bogota, Colombia with shared rooms and meals, excursions, cultural & teaching training.
*One-way domestic transfer to host city placement (if located in Medellin or Baranquilla)

Teacher Responsibilities
In addition to the usual responsibilities of teaching and supporting students, assessment and reporting, and classroom management, tasks will also include assisting with student orientation, tutoring small groups and mentoring less experienced teachers.

Selection Criteria
Certain criteria are mandated for all ESL teachers in order to be eligible for an Indonesian visa/work permit:
• Bachelor or Master’s degree with a major in English or English disciplines, such as Linguistics or TESOL
• TEFL certified, CELTA or Trinity(TESOL)
• aged between 23 and 58 years
• native English language speaker
• hold a passport from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States
• able to provide a pre-employment health check stating you are HIV/AIDS and drug free.

In addition, the following experience and capabilities are required:
• at least 3 years’ ESL teaching experience
• effective classroom and resource management skills
• a flexible, adaptable, and collaborative approach to work
• good interpersonal skills and an interest in different cultures.

IELTS teaching experience would be well regarded.

Teach English as a Second Language to Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces (RSADF) personnel and cadets in a classroom environment. The individual will conduct English Language classes and labs in accordance with the established Program of Instruction (POI) and review progress of assigned class or students. The individual will administer and evaluate tests and examinations, submit attendance and grade reports, prepare materials and reports, and counsel students as necessary. The position also includes participation in scheduled functions, training seminars, meetings, orientations, visits, and performs other related duties as required or directed.

Required Qualifications:

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Contract, Remuneration & Holidays:

If both the Company and the Employee agree to renew the contract for the 2015-2016 academic year, the Employee will receive a \60,000 bonus and a raise, bringing the Basic Salary to \260,000/month.

2.) Teaching Experience: More than two years in Japan (JLPT N3 Required)
Basic Salary: \260,000/month*
If both the Company and the Employee agree to renew the contract for the 2015-2016 academic year, the Employee will receive a \80,000 bonus and a raise, bringing the Basic Salary to \270,000/month.

*Initial Contract Period:
Employment begins September 2nd, 2013; the first three months of employment will be considered the Initial Contract Period. From the end of the Initial Contract Period, payment of the above Basic Salary will begin.
- Initial Contract Period remuneration is as follows:
- First monthfs salary: \200,000/month (140 hours total, 4 days a week)
- Following two monthsf salary: \230,000/month (160 total, 5 days a week)
- Initial Contract Period completion bonus of \40,000

National Health Insurance: It is mandatory for the Employee to enroll in National Health Insurance (kokumin kenkou hoken) and pay the premium every month to comply with the Immigration Laws of Japan. The Company shall provide a \10,000 monthly allowance paid to the Employee in the addition to the Basic Salary to subsidize the insurance premium paid by the Employee.

Holidays: Two days a week (including Sunday), national holidays (including one week for both Golden Week and Silver Week), summer and winter breaks (two weeks each).
