Professional Development Unit Manager - Penang, Malaysia
We are recruiting for a Professional Development Unit Manager to join a project in Penang, Malaysia, starting in July / August 2013. This is a fabulous 2 year contract that offers great scope for career development. You will be based at a small centre in Penang with 25 staff in total operating in 10 classrooms. This is primarily a young learner centre with students from age 6 to 18, and some adults attending evening classes. The Professional Development Unit on the other hand delivers approx. 700 hours per year of Business English and soft-skill workshops off-site. This is a growing unit, with the challenge to develop and implement strategies tackling increasing competition.
The role:
To market, develop, and maintain high quality delivery of Business English and professional development courses for corporate clients in Penang. To manage the teaching centre's Business English and provide line management of business teachers in order to maintain TCCSS quality standards. The post-holder will be expected to handle both the business and academic aspects of the corporate training business.
Essential Criteria:
To apply for the positions you MUST meet the client’s following requirements:
• High proficiency in English (IELTS 8/9 across all 4 skills if not Native level)
• Undergraduate degree
• DELTA / Trinity DIP TESOL (other qualifications will not be accepted i.e. they MUST be either Cambridge or Trinity)
• PGCE preferable
• 5 Years of teaching/training experience of which 2 need to be gained post TEFL (DELTA or Trinity DIP TESOL)
• Knowledge and experience of both Business and Academic management and development.
Package:
• Basic salary from RM 11,014 – RM 11,686 per month dependant on qualifications and experience
• Flights provided
• Baggage and settling-in allowances
• Medical allowance
• Pension support
• 35 days leave plus 15 days public holiday
