English Teachers for Adults in China at EF

Candidate Profile:
EF's adult English training program is built on people development. Our students in China range from 18-35 years of age and seek to live international lives. As an EF English teacher you will use the latest electronic and online media in your classes. You'll lead face-to-face discussion classes, workshops and life club activities. Positions are currently available in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shenzhen




Qualifications:

  • A genuine interest in teaching, education and developing yourself
  • A desire to improve learning outcomes and student experiences
  • 1+ year teaching experience, preferably in EFL or ESL
  • Bachelors degree
  • TEFL certificate (CELTA or equivalent preferred)
  • Native English speaker
  • Passport issued by the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
  • Previous business experience preferred
  • Aged 24 to 55 (due to China working visa restrictions)
  • No criminal record
Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering lessons to adults in classes ranging from one-on-one private lessons to workshops of 25 students.
  • Using electronic media and EF-developed courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively
  • Evaluating student progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement
  • Participating in social activities with students organized by your school to encourage oral English proficiency
