English Teachers for Young Learners

Candidate Profile

EF is currently searching for qualified ESL teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience teaching young learners in China. Chinese parents spend more of their income on education than on housing, and the importance of education shows. Our students, ranging in age from 3 to 15, are a spirited, motivated bunch. As an EF teacher, you will have a direct impact on these students, and see them progress by leaps and bounds. Positions are currently available in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shenzhen.

Qualifications

• Passionate about teaching young learners
• 1+ year teaching experience with young learners
• Bachelors degree
• TEFL certificate (CELTA or equivalent preferred)
• Native English speaker
• Passport issued by the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
• Creative, caring, and full of energy
• Aged 24 to 55 (due to China working visa restrictions)
• No criminal record

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering lessons to children aged 3-15 in groups from 5 to 15 students.
• Using electronic media and EF-developed courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively
• Evaluating student progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement to both students and their parents
• Assigning and evaluating out of class exercises
• Participating in social activities with students organized by your school to encourage oral English proficiency
